Clubs and Organizations
Students are more successful when they participate in extracurricular activities!
- Student Council: The HMS Student Council is a group of dedicated students who work together to improve our school community. They plan events, organize fundraisers, and represent the student body’s voice. Advisor: Mrs. Tien
- Yearbook: This is a full-year club that opens applications starting towards the end of September. We are responsible for capturing a keepsake of the school year. Students in this club will organize pictures into different layouts and designs chosen by the yearbook staff. The yearbook will serve as a memory for all students for many years to come. Advisors: Mrs. Cummings and Mrs. Chandel
- Peer Assistant Leaders (PALS): Peer Assisted Leaders (PALS) are students who are selected through an application and interview process to serve as go-to students at HMS. PALs encourage students to make more informed, responsible, and constructive decisions and seek help when needed. Advisor: Mrs. Rybicki
- S.E.A Club: Save the Earth and Join the S.E.A. (Student Environmental Action) Club! Advisor: Mrs. Booth
- SAGA: SAGA offers a safe and inclusive space for all students, families, and staff to share, support, and celebrate the AWESOME in all of us! Advisor: Mr. Pineda
- Peer to Peer: If you enjoy helping others, learning more about disabilities, and how to be a supportive and kind peer to all students then consider filling out an application. Advisor: Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Curtis, Mrs. Williams
- Science Olympiad: If you enjoy team challenges, problem solving, and the thrill of competition, join Science Olympiad. With over 20 events to compete in, there’s something for everyone! Advisor: Mr. Bush and Mr. McGuire
- Builders Club: Builders Club is a group of students that focuses on community service projects, leadership skills, and having fun with old and new friends. Our goal is to find ways to support our school and community. They plan to meet 2-3 times a month. Advisor: Mrs. Curtis
- LEGO Club: Do you like to build, create, or play with Lego? Join LEGO Club! Advisors: Mrs. Rybicki and Mrs. Cooper
- Chess Club: The Chess Club is a weekly meeting of HMS chess players on Fridays after school from 2:30 to 3:30. The club is open to players of all skills and abilities and no experience is necessary. There are no sign-ups or requirements to attend chess club, simply drop in whenever your schedule allows! Advisor: Mr. Cook
- Culture Club: Culture Club is a space where students can share, understand, and celebrate the variety of cultures represented at HMS. Come to teach us about your culture, and leave after learning from others! Advisor: Mrs. Allen
- Pickleball Club: The Pickleball Club meets on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month (weather permitting), from 2:45-4:00 at Hillbrook Park. No experience is necessary, and all the gear you need to play is available. ALL are welcome to check out and play the fastest growing sport in the US! Advisor: Mr. Pineda
- Club 13: Calling all Swifties! You are invited to the era of eating lunch together while singing along to Taylor’s sick beats! You are encouraged to wear your favorite Taylor Swift attire and share friendship bracelets. Club 13 meets during lunch on the 13th of each month, or the Friday before. Advisor: Mrs. Curtis
- Dungeons & Dragons Club: This club plays a table-top board game where players create characters and join adventures led by a Dungeon Master! They work together to explore imaginative worlds! Advisor: Mr. Carpenter
